Social Gatherings Limited, But Weddings Will Go On!

On Tuesday, August 10, 2021, Governor Ige announced new restrictions around social gatherings in Hawaii. Effective immediately until further notice social gatherings were limited to 10 people indoors and 25 people outdoors.

Shortly after yesterdays press conference many wedding industry professionals got calls and emails from soon to be brides and grooms wondering how the new restrictions might affect their wedding plans.

You can rest assured that professionally organized events, YES that includes weddings, can still happen with the proper safeguards in place. If your wedding will have more than 50 people, you or your wedding coordinator will just have to submit a COVID-19 mitigation plan at https://oneoahu.org/mitigation-plan

“The professionally organized events are those events like weddings, or banquets, or meetings and conventions at convention facilities, or ballroom facilities. It would also include professionally organized activities like at the Waikiki Shell and others,” Gov. Ige said
