Hawaii Wedding Videography and Photography: A Ko'olau Ballrooms Wedding

It's no secret that Ko'olau Ballrooms is one of our favorite venues on the Windward side of O'ahu. With panoramic views of the Ko'olau mountain range and outdoor/indoor ceremony options, what's not to love. Kat and Flo reached out to us one year before their wedding date to inquire about different package options for their big day. They ultimately decided on all day Photography and Videography coverage to document all the special moments of their day.

Before we get into the details of their Ko'olau Ballroom wedding day, let's take it back to the start of the day at the Prince Waikiki Hotel.

Getting ready, First Touch and First Look at the Prince Waikiki Hotel

Kat and Flo's big day started off at the beautiful Prince Waikiki where they got ready with some of their favorite people. Reveal Hair and Makeup was on-site getting the bride squad glammed up, and the guys relaxed with a bottle of Hibiki to calm the nerves.

To build up the anticipation and emotions of the day, the couple decided to have both a First Touch, where they could hold hands and share a few intimate words without seeing each other, and a First Look, where they would finally lay eyes on each other before the ceremony.

It was finally time for everyone to head over to Ko'olau Ballrooms for the Ceremony, which is about a 30 minute drive away. What better way to get the party started than to take a ride on the Party Bus! They made sure there was enough room on the bus for us so we could jump on and capture those candid, in-between moments leading up to the Ceremony.

The wedding ceremony was held at Ko'olau Vista with breathtaking views of the Ko'olau Mountains, providing a picturesque backdrop for the couple's special day.

Modern tropical florals by Savannahs Events was the perfect pop of color for their ceremony setting .

They also added a few unique touches like a Lei and Sand Ceremony. The Lei Ceremony was to welcome and honor their parents, and representing the unbroken circle they are forming with each other. The Sand Ceremony symbolizes the blending of two families together as one.

Post ceremony we went on a golf cart tour of the golf course and captured some intimate moments of just the couple. This was their time to soak it all in and enjoy the first moments of being husband and wife.

Koolau Ballrooms Wedding First Dance with cold sparks and low lying fog

Their grand entrance and first dance was nothing short of magical. They were greeted by cold sparks and enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife dancing on clouds, all provided by Hawaii Events Unlimited.

Their wedding day wouldn't have been complete without a delicious dinner and desserts by Ko'olau Catering. Emcee Justin “J-Irie" Lopez kept the guests entertained throughout the night; there was never a dull moment. The perfect wedding day concluded with a private last dance where Kat and Flo were able to have an intimate dance with just the two of them.
